The 2027 sailing season of Viking’s 15-day Magnificent Mekong cruisetour is now open for sale. The Viking Tonle, set to debut on the Mekong River in October 2025, means Viking will have two river ships sailing this region and a total of 70 departure dates in 2027 to meet strong consumer demand for Mekong voyages.

Built specifically to navigate the Mekong River, the 80-guest Viking Tonle will join its identical sister ship, Viking Saigon, which debuted in 2022. They will sail between Kampong Cham, Cambodia and Mỹ Tho, Vietnam, as part of Viking’s popular 15-day Magnificent Mekong itinerary.

The Viking Tonle

The Viking Tonle will host 80 guests in 40 outside staterooms and feature Viking’s signature clean Scandinavian design, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a Veranda or French Balcony in every stateroom. Guests also have access to the Spa & Fitness Center, pool and open-air Sky Bar on the sun deck.

Magnificent Mekong Overview

During this 15-day cruisetour, guests can discover silk towns, fishing villages, monasteries and floating markets and explore the cultural treasures of Vietnam and Cambodia on 16 guided tours. Hotel stays are included in Hanoi, Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), with eight days spent sailing the Mekong River.

In Vietnam, guests can explore the Old Quarter of Hanoi, attend a performance by Apsara dancers, and taste distinctive fresh ingredients at bustling markets and local restaurants. Cambodia offers jungle vines embracing ancient ruins at Ta Prohm, wandering the Khmer temple complex of Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and seeing the sights of Phnom Penh by cyclo rickshaw.

Viking is currently offering included airfares on the 15-day Magnificent Mekong journey across the 2025-2027 sailing seasons, if booked before 15 November 2024.
