A Journey into the Heart of South America

The famil explored some of Peru’s highlights, including the pristine wilderness of the Amazon rainforest, the rich history of colonial Lima, the bustling markets and ruins of Cusco, and the crown jewel – Machu Picchu.

Highlights included: A visit to the Sacred Valley of the Inca and the work of the AMA Foundation in the village of Chinchero where master female weavers demonstrate traditional alpaca and llama wool dyeing and ancient weaving techniques; lunch at the AMA Foundation’s restaurant in Urubamba supporting community development with job training; and a cooking class at Mamá Seledonia’s in Cusco, where young single disadvantaged mothers are given employment opportunities to develop their master cooking skills in the kitchen delivering unique and exquisite culinary recipes.

“Adventure World’s genuine and caring approach to sharing Peru with their guests is incredible,” said Thea Bainbridge of Jamison Plaza Travel Associates in Australia. “The connection to the people, places, and food made this a truly special, once-in-a-lifetime experience. And my dream of meeting llamas at Machu Picchu came true!”
